• Question: Did Mars' environment used to be like the Earth's?

      I do not think so… but Venus is called “Earth’s sister” as scientists believe Venus started very similar to Earth.
      Maybe we should look closely at Venus for lifeforms too?

      We are still trying to find out. What we know is that Mars had an atmosphere and more water than there is right now. We know there was some sort of sea across most of the north of the planet down to the equator. We can see traces of rivers and exciting places, but we don’t really know much what happened then…
      This is why we are sending robots there to find out, and if possible find traces of extinct life. So far, past rovers have tried to find out more about water and building blocks of life, but in 2018, Europe is sending the ExoMars rover, the first to have all the instruments to detect current of past traces of life … quite exciting times… ! 🙂
