• Question: have u ever set your lab on fire

      I was once working with ethanol (pure alcohol, used to sterilise stuff) next to a bunsen burner. I somehow managed to set my whole glass of ethanol alight (it would have taken hours to burn off)! Then a paper towel soaked in ethanol that was next to the glass caught fire. Luckily I quenched it quickly just before my supervisor waked into the lab and remarked how it smelt ‘a bit burned’ 😀
      So I’ve never managed to set the WHOLE lab on fire, no 😉
