• Question: How do you think the microbes are going to survive?

      Well, some of the bacteria samples also contain some martian-like soil. This could protect them a bit, but the chemicals in the soil could also be bad for them (I’ll investigate this once I start analysing them when they return to earth)! Some of the bacteria can form larger colonies and can generate a protective jelly-like structure around themselves, that might help shield them from the harmful radiation in space 🙂
