Less and less each year. It has become a serious problem in the recent years and so, today, there are many rules we have to follow everytime we send something to space.
Unfortunately, some of the junk sent many years ago, still remains there, so scientist and engineers are also looking into ideas on how to bring that junk down (for example, a satellite that can grab this junk and bring it down with it or even shooting lasers at the pieces of junk).
