Question: how often do stars collide

Not really that often. In fact, scientist predict that from all start in our galaxy, we have about one collision every 10,000 years.
What does happen more often is that 2 (or even more) stars get so close together that they start orbiting each other. And, of course, some of these starts still have planets orbiting them. So you can imagine how strange it is on those planets, if you look up in sky and see 2 or 3 “Suns”…
