• Question: If the big bang theory is correct why are we accelarating? And aren't objects ment to never slow down in space unless interference from gravity.etc, so how are we mnet to behave like and elastic band?

      Physicists think it’s dark energy (which makes up most of the universe) that’s causing it to accelerate. The trouble is, no one really knows anything about dark energy! It’s one of the biggest physics problems of our age. You’re right that if there’s no friction, object don’t slow down in space..but remember the space ITSELF if accelerating, not the things inside it! Really hard to even imagine, right?
