Usually in Europe we like to do things together. And space is a great example of that. We make a lof of missions where each country contributes with a part of it. For example, we launched just yesterday a mission to Mars. The mission is called ExoMars and will still take some time to get there (will arrive in October), because Mars is quite far. And the UK was working on a very big part of this mission!
