My idol (sadly deceased) is Carl Sagan. He was a brilliant scientist but also a great communicator of science to the public, and just a general badass. He wrote and starred in a brilliant documentary called ‘Cosmos’. Check it out! ;D

Tough one !.. so many great people, …but I would certainly say Leonardo da Vinci. He was what is called a “polymath”, meaning he was talented in many things from engineering, biology, science, physics, but also drawing, painting, sculpture and so on.

It goes to show that you can be good at plenty of things at the same time and don’t need to choose whether you want to do something like engineering or art.

Sometimes it was his experience is, say, biology, that inspired him for a lot of great engineering inventions. He invented the concept of planes, parachutes, and helicopters hundreds of years before we had the capacity to actually do it.

There is a great exhibition at the Science Museum in London on Leonardo right now..worth a look if you are coming around 🙂
